It is clear that while the yearly number of Vietnamese students went to France and Russia to study increased significantly, the opposite was true for students studied in America. Also, the figure for students studied in America increased gradually overtime.

In 2002, there was an average of nearly 4 million Vietnamese students studying in France, in comparison with only 3 million pupils in Ruissia and 1.5 million pupils in America. Over the next 5 years, the average amount poured into France and Ruissia fell by approximately 1 million. By contrast, the number of students choosed America witnessed a significant increase of roughly 2 million.

After 2005, the figure for students studying in America grew rapidly and peaked at 5 million in 2015 while students went to France declined to around 2 million and remained unchange until 2010. To be specific, yearly number of Vietnamese studied in Russia witnessed a decrease to a low of just under 2 million in 2010. However, the figure for that went up to 2.5 million at the end of the period.
