The bar chart illustrates six different countries in terms of their estimated amount of oil use from 1990 to 2010.

Overall, it can be seen from the chart that the numbers of barrels of oil produced daily generally followed an upward trend in all the countries over the 20-year period. In addition, the figure for Saudi Arabia was more significantly higher than in the other countries, whereas the smallest producer was Qatar.

Over the period, a significant rise in oil production capacity was recorded in Saudi Arabia. From a starting figure of around 8 million barrels in 1990, the estimated amount of oil which was produced rose steadily, reaching a peak of over 14 million barrels daily in 2010. By contrast, Qatar was country with the lowest production in oil use. Despite a slight increase in 2000, the figure then remained relatively unchanged, at less than 1 million barrels per day.

In 1990-2010 period, the trends for the other countries witnessed a steady growth. Just over 3 million barrels was produced in Iran in the year 1990, compared to only about 2 million barrels in Iraq, Kuwait and in the UAE. Although, oil production did not increase in the UAE in 2000, the estimated number of barrels of oil tended to rise gradually to over 4 million barrels in Iran, and about 4 million barrels in three different countries by 2010.

Your essay is erratic. First you say that the chart plots oil use. then you say oil produced daily, then you say production capacity, then you say produced again. These are three very different things. The chart only plots one of them. Your maths professor would give you a very poor score for being inconsistent.

The bar chart illustrates ("Illustrate" means 'make a picture. Use this verb for pictures, such as maps, flow diagrams, and blueprints. It is not good for plots such as graphs and charts. Use compare, give, show, plot, ) six different countries in terms of their estimated amount of oil use (That is completely wrong. That is not what is on the chart. They did not use the oil. They mostly exported it to other countries.) from 1990 to 2010. (Incorrect. From... to ... is for continuous plots such as line graphs. Here, only four discrete time points are plotted. What are they?)

(Incomplete. What are the six countries?)

Other points to note about this figure.

These are examples of simple calculations you can do. If you perform calculations, rather than just copying numbers, you will get a better mark.

From 1990 to 2010, the total production capacity of these six countries increased by two-thirds between 1990 and 2010, from about 17 to 29 million barrels per day. In absolute terms, Saudi Arabia had the greatest increase, about 6 million barrels per day. Percentage-wise, Iraq and Kuwait had the largest increase; they were close to doubling their capacity. Qatar showed little change.

In 2010, Saudi Arabia had triple the production capacity of second-place Iran. That was a wider gap than in 1990, when the difference was a factor of about two and a half times.
