Reva University partners with EMURGO Academy for Blockchain courses

In an academic milieu which struggles with change, Reva University of Bangalore stands out by creating customized Blockchain courses, in partnership with EMURGO Academy.

Reva University is one of the leading private engineering institutes of Bangalore, with over fifteen thousand students on the campus.

The college revealed via press release that the requirement for students who are trained in Blockchain has increased significantly. A four hundred per cent increase in 2019 demanded the creation of this customized course. EMURGO had developed the curriculum as per international requirements, in consultation with subject matter experts.

This seems to be a prudent move as Gartner has predicted that the market opportunity for Blockchain will cross three trillion USD by the year 2030.

The parent company of EMURGO Academy is based in Japan and is a well reputed EdTech firm. They entered the Indian market earlier this year and plan to set up operations pan India in the next twenty-four months.

From being the backbone of bitcoin, Blockchain is now finding its application in various fields. In a developing economy like India, Blockchain will find usage in healthcare, governance, utilities, and so on.

Construct of the Blockchain courses from EMURGO

The Ignitive Labs of EMURGO through which the program will be executed has a hybrid approach to learning that combines classroom training with online classes and pre-recorded sessions. They will also facilitate interactive forums with industry experts and CTOs, which will equip the students with the knowledge needed to decide on their career.

Through this collaboration, EMURGO will provide Reva students with opportunities to work on projects; introduction to international forums and perhaps even placement opportunities.

The students will be provided with internship opportunities at EMURGO and other firms. There will be a “junior fellowship program” in which selected students will get a chance to do an internship in New York.

For students and college authorities who are as keen on placements as they are on the curriculum, these support offerings from EMURGO will be a blessing.
